There is new management at Terminix and instead of inspecting the slab homes first, where they must access the inside of the home, they inspected the homes with crawl spaces first.
Even though we have always asked that they prioritize the homes where owners must let them inside, we apologize that they failed to do so today and for the inconvenience to those of you that adjusted your schedules to accommodate their inspection.
After just driving through the community to find the inspector and discovering that he just left, I called the Terminix manager and informed him that we were going to send a communication to all owners that have been waiting since 10am for their inspections that everyone can leave that has errands to run.
Our contract requires that owners provide access once yearly on the designated day, but since they didn’t follow protocol, we insisted that Terminix must reschedule at the owners’ convenience, even if it means that they make multiple trips to the community at each owners convenience. Doing so will be costly for Terminix, so I’m confident that they will not repeat this mistake next year and will follow existing inspection protocol to prioritize slab homes.
All that said, the manager just called back and said he is heading to Ridgeview now and he is bringing another inspector with him so that they can knock out as many slab inspections today as possible. So if you don’t have errands to run and would like to get your inspection out of the way today, they should be back on site shortly.
