Bulk trash (washer & dryer) left on street

Someone put bulk trash on the street.  We are trying to determine who put the washer and dryer on the street so that we can make arrangements with them to have the items removed. If you have any information about how these items came to be put streetside, kindly email us at email@ridgeview.fyi

If there are any questions about bulk trash policies, the guidelines for bulk trash removal are included in a detailed post from over a year ago on the website.

The post is listed under the Ridgeview Community News tab. It is dated February 14, 2017.

Frozen pipes

Unfortunately, we already have an Owner experiencing a casualty loss due to frozen pipes.  Much thanks to the Owner that reported the leak to Gene Haas.  Gene took immediate action to minimize the loss.

We’ve been fortunate the past couple of years to have very mild winters, but this latest cold front has packed quite a punch.

We urge all to make sure that potential freeze points are protected as appropriate to the conditions at hand.  Among precautions to observe… Maintaining adequate heat, insulation, spigot covers, leaving cabinet doors open that house water pipes and leaving water dripping… Etc.

A more comprehensive list of recommendations by the NC  Cooperative Extension is available at the website link included below.  You can copy and paste in your browser to review.

We hope everyone stays wsrm and safe this winter…

Water Advisory

Apparently there was a water main break yesterday that resulted in having to shut down our wines temporarily.  Accotding to the supervisor in charge, the phone recordings that many of you received is customary after such a break where dirt may enter the line and there is a possibility of water contamination on a temporary basis.  As of now, the water advisory has not been lifted, but again, this is a precaution, not a known contamination issue. They do not have results yet from the water samples they took directly after the break. If they discover contamination in the water samples, then the water service should be sending notice that the advisory is being extended.

If we receive further information on the issue, we will provide that information via an updated website post.

Unlocked Cars

We were notified by a number of residents that someone rifled through the contents of unlocked cars in Ridgeview again last night. This is the first report of such activity in several months.
In this case, as in all past cases, there has been no reported breach of vehicles that were locked. My cars remain locked at all times and I had a number of boxes in my car that were undisturbed.
Whoever has been doing this apparently is not taking the time to try to unlock vehicles. So keeping cars locked may discourage this activity by making Ridgeview a less productive use of the criminals’ time.
Have a Great Labor Day All!

Beware Unauthorized Repairmen/Service Technicians Calls

PLEASE BE AWARE!

One of the Ridgeview Residents reported being contacted by a company suggesting they were supposed to perform an inspection for an external building repair of their property.

The call received was apparently some scam artist.

Repairs are generally initiated with a request for work by the property owners.  If Ridgeview initiates a repair to your property, then an attempt will be made to notify you in advance that such a repair is in process.  No contractor, other than Jason Krauss and his crew, will be given contact information for anyone in the community without our having notified the Owner in advance of doing so.

Unless you have been notified that your request for work has been approved or we have notified you of a repair, then you should not be granting access to or around your property to unsolicited persons claiming to be “repairpersons” or “service technicians”.

Water interruption

Apparently there was a line break that caused a water interruption this morning.  I was just notified by an Owner and contacted a supervisor at the water service.  By the time you receive this notice, water will likely have been restored as he was on his way to Ridgeview while we were talking with the part needed to make the repair.  During our conversation he indicated that while they are on site they will be installing a water valve in the pool area that will interrupt service this afternoon for about 15 minutes.  He did not give a time, but did say the interruption will be relatively brief.

Happy 4th of July to all.

Update

Just spoke to city of concord director of power director again. He said concord got all systems back online and power was restored, but the power is back off due to a failure on the duke energy side.

Duke is having to install new equipment.  There’s not a good assessment as of now when power will be back, but… We’re told best case will be at least a couple of hours and it could be late afternoon today before power is back on.

I wish we had better news.

Again, if you have more information, please share at Alex@ridgeview.fyi

Power Outage

Just received a response from City Power Manager.  Outage involves Duke Energy and City of Concord, apparently 911 system is affected as well.

Right now, best case scenario is for power to be restored by midnight, but there’s a good chance we won’t have power until morning.

If I hear more, I’ll let you know. If any of you hear more, please let me know at Alex@ridgeview.fyi so I can post to website.

Sorry for the bad news, but wanted to share what we know.

Acme Pest Control (Buildings A and B only)

Acme Pest Control will be performing their annual inspection on Buildings A and B on Monday, February 20, 2017, between 10 and noon.
Please make arrangements for someone to be at your home to provide access for this necessary inspection.  Failing to provide access for an inspection could void the termite protection on your home.
